GIDARA Energy’s HTW® Technology to Transform Waste into Sustainable Aviation Fuel in Equinor’s MIT Project with Aker Solutions

GIDARA Technology: Innovative Solution for Converting Solid Waste into Sustainable Alternative Fuel (SAF)

GIDARA Energy’s HTW® (High Temperature Winkler) technology has been selected by Aker Solutions (AKSO) to participate in a feasibility study for the Equinor Mongstad Industrial Transformation (MIT) project. The main objective of this initiative is to transform solid waste and RDF into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

As part of the study, GIDARA aims to demonstrate its in-house HTW® Gasification unit, which is designed to convert solid waste feedstocks into clean syngas. The process involves pre-treatment of waste (drying/storing) and cleaning/treatment of raw syngas to ensure it meets quality standards.

The clean and sustainable syngas produced will then be used to manufacture SAF through either a Fischer-Tropsch process or a methanol/ethanol-to-jet process. Dr. Norbert Kamp, CEO of GIDARA Energy, expressed his enthusiasm about collaborating with Aker Solutions and Equinor on this groundbreaking project.

GIDARA Energy specializes in converting waste feedstocks into sustainable fuels and circular chemicals using their patented technologies. Their HTW® technology generates syngas, a versatile mixture that can be utilized to produce various sustainable fuels and circular chemicals such as methanol, hydrogen, methane, and bio-based substances.

In addition to producing valuable products, this syngas can also be converted into heat and power, providing additional benefits for sectors seeking to reduce their reliance on fossil resources and decrease carbon emissions. GIDARA Energy’s commitment to addressing waste management challenges, reducing CO2 emissions, and combating climate change is reflected in their innovative approach to converting waste into valuable and sustainable products.
