Man on Fire: One Man’s Radical Protest Goes Too Far at Trump Trial

Man self-immolates outside courthouse during Trump trial

In a shocking incident, a 37-year-old conspiracy theorist from Florida, Max Azzarello, set himself on fire in front of the court where Donald Trump’s criminal trial is being held. The event occurred shortly after 1:30pm (7:30pm in Italy) in a park located outside the New York courthouse in Lower Manhattan.

Azzarello, who presented himself online as an investigative researcher, was quickly engulfed in flames and had to be extinguished by dozens of officers who patrol the area. He was then taken away by ambulance.

The incident was preceded by a series of speeches that Azzarello posted on his Substack account, where he claimed that he was ready to set himself on fire outside the Trump trial. His message stated that this extreme act of protest was meant to draw attention to what he believed was an urgent discovery: that they were victims of a totalitarian swindler and their government was planning an apocalyptic and fascist global coup.

Azzarello also provided a link for people to discover the “rotten truth of post-truth America” and warned that they were in a desperate emergency situation that required action. Despite apologizing to his friends, family, witnesses, and rescue workers for any pain he may have caused them, Azzarello claimed that his act was an act of revolution. His message suggested that the government’s intentions were far worse than any pain he could inflict and urged others to take action based on these truths.
