Medical Miracle: Ron’s Recovery in the Gaza Strip

Serious Injury in Gaza Leaves Him Temporarily Blind

After weeks of combat in the Gaza Strip, Ron and his team remained focused on their mission. Despite facing constant danger and difficult terrain, they were determined to complete their task. In one instance, they had to navigate a dangerous area in Gaza City, working carefully to allow tanks to enter the neighborhood.

Just as they were about to make progress, an anti-tank missile penetrated their compartment, narrowly missing Ron’s head. The incident left him with severe injuries and he was evacuated to safety and taken to Billinson Hospital for emergency surgery.

Prof. Rita Ehrlich, a skilled surgeon at the hospital, removed shrapnel from Ron’s eyes in an attempt to save his vision. Despite the severity of his injuries, Ron remained hopeful and focused on recovering quickly so he could return to his team.

Weeks later, Ron’s vision gradually improved thanks to the skilled medical team at Billinson Hospital who saved his eyesight. He is now recovering at home and eagerly awaits the day he can rejoin his team in combat. As he reflects on his journey, Ron acknowledges the support of his family, friends and medical team who stood by him throughout his recovery.
