In this episode of The Tenant, we meet a couple who have chosen to settle in Bengaluru’s Electronic City. Initially drawn to the area for its affordability and good air quality, they faced challenges that threatened to undermine their initial excitement about their new home.

The biggest obstacle for the couple was communication. Although they primarily spoke Hindi, they soon realized that this language barrier made it difficult for them to fully integrate into their new community and feel like locals in Electronic City. They found it challenging to navigate daily life without being able to communicate effectively with those around them.

In addition to the language barrier, the couple also faced other challenges in their new city. They were concerned about the exaggerated water scarcity problem in Electronic City, as well as the lack of malls and multiplexes in the area. These factors made it difficult for them to enjoy some of the conveniences they were used to in their previous city. Additionally, traffic and weather conditions posed further obstacles as they struggled to adapt to life in Bengaluru.

Despite these challenges, the couple remained committed to making a go of it in Electronic City. However, over time, these hurdles have caused them to question whether Bengaluru is truly the right place for them to settle down permanently. Tune in to hear more about their journey and struggles firsthand as they explore what it means
